How do you feel today?
How are you feeling today? Are you feeling positive, tired, worried, angry? What's on your mind?
Every day in our lives, the things around us influence us, and when we let them, and sometimes when we don't, those things can also effect our moods. Sometimes for the good, sometimes for the bad.
Personally, I try to see the silver lining in everything. Otherwise, I try to see the good in every situation. Sometimes the silver lining is difficult to see. Sometimes, it is difficult to be positive, but we try.
Have you ever been having a rough day, maybe you are in the grocery store, maybe you are at work, maybe you are just picking your kids up from school? And as you are walking by, a stranger smiles at you and says hello, for no reason at all other than to say hello? How did that make you feel? Did it change your mood? Did it make you smile?
Today, I want you to think about a few things that make you smile. Think of things that are going well in your life.
I once had a friend give me a gift. It was a gratitude book. It was an empty spiral notebook that had a handwritten note on the inside cover that basically said to write down three things that made me happy every day. She didn't know it, but the thought that she was thinking of me and that she wanted me to be happy was a turning point in my life. I did do that, until the notebook was full, then onto another notebook. I've passed the idea onto other people that I care about.
Intentionally thinking positively isn't always easy, but it is worth it.
So now, I ask again... How do you feel today? Are you now looking for the silver lining? Are you thinking of the things that make you happy?
I hope that you have a wonderful day full of lots of happiness and smiles. Find the silver lining.
